Chapter Two is all about exploration. Your toddler is on the move and experiencing many things for the very first time. Our focus here is to bottle up these unexpected moments, one find at a time; a great way to formulate chapter 2 of your child’s story.

Get Creative!

You can customize your explorer session! We love putting together new concepts! Concepts, or themes rather, are great for creating images that are unique to your own interests. For example, your favorite sport team, favorite movie/book, favorite band, etc. Most popularly, our clients choose creative Explorer Sessions to add a custom touch to their child’s birthday party. Planning this type of photoshoot ahead of time ensures there will be plenty of time to print before the day of your event.

Wardrobe. Choosing the right outfits doesn’t have to be overwhelming. We recommend picking a few outfits and trying them on before your session. It’s nice to show up to a photoshoot knowing their clothing will fit nicely. Less is almost always more, so try sticking with more neutral colors and if you can’t deny a good pattern, lean towards more subtle options.

    2. Timing. When your child is happy, so will you be! No one knows your child better than you, so scheduling your session to match their schedule is always a good idea. Some children are happiest after nap time, some are at their best after a meal..

    3. Being Prepared. We’re all aware that melt-downs can occur at any time, any place, and for seemingly no reason at all. It can help to bring something comforting in the event this happens. We will simply take a break and regroup when they feel ready.

    4. Something meaningful. Sometimes clients like to include a sentimental item, such as a favorite plush toy or special blanket. It’s not required, but we encourage it. Bringing something meaningful can further customize your photo session.

    5. Distraction. We welcome all friends and family, however limiting the number of visitors allows your child to be less distracted and more engaging with the camera.
